Summary

Licence number: 358
Title: PRP 5 - Investigations and works to reduce wastewater overflow occurances from the Anna Bay No. 4 Sewer Pump Station
Start date: 08 Aug 2012

Licence Condition
Background:  The Anna Bay No. 4 Sewer Pump Station (SPS) is located in an environmentally sensitive area.  This SPS receives very large flows from 46 upstream SPSs.  Overflow incidents from this SPS that occurred in 2011 and 2012 have highlighted the need for further environmental controls at the site.  In response to the overflow incidents the licensee has advised the EPA of its intention to install a control system that will automatically shut down upstream SPSs in the event of incidents like power outages at the Anna Bay No. 4 SPS. Deliverables:  By 31 October 2012 the licensee must undertake investigations and implement an automated shutdown control system for as many of the 46 upstream SPSs as is possible/appropriate giving consideration to the risks of impacts from discharges from the upstream SPSs.
Within thirty (30) days of the date of completion of the upgrade to the Anna Bay No. 4 SPS referred to in condition U1.1 the licensee must provide written correspondence to the EPA detailing the completion of the required works.  The written correspondence must be sent to the EPA Regional Manager - Hunter, PO Box 488G, NEWCASTLE WEST NSW 2300.
